A woman has become the first female Chinese bodybuilder to win a coveted Arnold Schwarzenegger title.
Mou Cong won the best figure and best physique crowns in the under 167 centimetre (5 foot 5 inches) category at the Arnold Amateur held in the north-eastern US state of Ohio.
A Chinese athlete has never before won membership and championships in the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness.
Her victories followed a gruelling 20-hour flight to get to the competition.
Competing against 15 other muscular ladies, Mou chose a bikini encrusted with rhinestones to show off all the hard work she has done in the gym to sculpt her physique.
Her wins look to have been well deserved, with well-developed muscles clearly defined all over her body.
She is no newcomer to the world of bodybuilding, having been training for a decade. In 2012 she won awards at the Asian Bodybuilding Championships and she has also spent three years training as an MMA fighter.
Mou said afterwards that she hoped her success in the competition would inspire other Chinese women to realise their full physical potential and take up and compete in bodybuilding.
Established in 1989, the Arnold Schwarzenegger Sports Festival is one of the bodybuilding world’s biggest competitions.
